Week 4

 Week 4     This week I spent Monday through  Wednesday at my grandma's house and worked on a single piece the whole time. There is this dress (image down below) that I have wanted for so long but the price is a little steep so I've never ended up getting it. However, last week I went to Goodwill and found two pairs a leggings that seemed like similar texture and material to the dress, and I had an idea.      We had to deconstruct the leggings first, so it took way more time then I was expecting, and since we work working with raw material, we didn't have enough fabric replicate the dress exactly (we had to make a tight skirt instead of a flowey one), but all in all, I really like how our dress turned out! Week 3

      Week 3      This week I was finally able to go over to my grandma's house. She broke her kneecap so had lots of appointments which made planning a little difficult (she is okay) so Wednesday was the first day I was able to sew with her. On one of my trips to Goodwill, I found a dress that I wanted to wear for a prom that my friends were having but when I tried it on, I wanted to bring it in a little bit.       What I thought would be a quick visit with my grandma, turned into a 3+ hour sewing session. It made me realize how hard simple alterations actually were to do (the dress was satin and had lining which are two things that made it difficult). During my internship, one of Adam's clients came in to see if his suit needed any alterations and when he left without needing any, Adam was very relieved.
